GOP-Led Judiciary Committee Quashes Bank CEO Subpoenas

The Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee on Sept. 17, 2025, blocked a Democratic effort to subpoena the CEOs of four banks that provided services to Jeffrey Epstein’s global sex-trafficking ring over decades.

The subpoenas sought to compel testimony from Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan Chase, Robin Vince of Bank of New York, Christian Sewing of Deutsche Bank and Brian Moynihan of Bank of America. Their banks filed reports to the Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) on more than $1.5 billion in “suspicious” transactions conducted by Epstein’s criminal enterprises.

Under a national-security law enacted after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on America, financial institutions are required to file a Suspicious Activity Report with FinCEN flagging any potentially illegal transactions such as money laundering or terrorist financing by one of their customers.

A yes vote was to quash subpoenas of CEOs of four Epstein-related banks.
